Eat like there's no tomorrow

A short chat with R last night triggered today's eating 'frenzy', its all R's fault for bringing up the subject of 'budu'. It immediately made me think of the bottle of budu in Ibu's fridge. I want!!

I woke up craving for grilled fish with budu today. Since I wanted to eat for lunch, I didn't take breakfast. By noon I was already grilling fish at my parent's place. Ibu was cooking pajeri nanas when I arrived. Before that I called her not to cook anything else since I wanted to cook the fish.
As soon as ayah came back from Friday prayers, rice was immediately served and we 'digged' in to this

our lunch today

Wah, wah ayah also was enjoying todays food, he even had a second helping of rice! (sampai sangkut2 tulang ikan lagi, fortunately it was dislodge soon after)

Well, no words can actually describe my feelings that time, but what I knew I was smiling and enjoyed every bit of pegaga, fish and budu today. Luckily, I dont this often, maybe twice in a year. For desert, it was lepat pisang and papaya...no wonder my stomach was almost bursting best described in NS dialect as 'se eh' and 'bontuih' . What we had was so simple but yet the most satisfying lunch I had in quite a while.

Well, I dont think I'll be doing this again in the nearest future. Like what R said: "Tak boleh makan selalu, nanti kecek kelate pulak", well I think budu is no longer exclusively for those from the east cost...BUDU kan dah INTERNATIONAL!

R, did you actually went out and cut pegaga from your lawn at 3am this morning??
