If it affected me much, I can't imagine my fathers feelings. Few days ago he asked me, where are we going to celebrate raya this year? He sounds so sad when he said, " Uwan dah takde, nak balik kampung pun dah tak de sape." I was on the verge of tears then. Kesian ayah. I told him that we can have it in our house this year since we have two additional family members this year (my sis and bro in law). My mum said, of course we will be going back to Jempol coz Uwan Jempol is still around. Me, as usual, neutral, I'll just follow the crowd. Since i dont have to go back to any in-law family...i'll just stay put. Its so funny to hear the conflicts of raya balik kampung. I am sure my brother will be celebrating 1st raya with his wife's family hehehe...(menantu kesayangan la katakan since his wife doesnt have any brothers)
Anyway, raya is still far away, things will work out fine...i just wish i don't have to cook the raya meal again this year...argh so annoyed when i have so many aunts and its always my mum and i. Why? All ready the is a request for laksa sarawak..hahaha..i'm saving that for raya in Seremban. Yup, need to call my laksa paste 'supplier' for supply!
A week before puasa, Uwan Jempol stayed with us in Bukit Merbah after she was discharged from hospital. She had dengue fever and was hospitalized for 5 days. Kesian Uwan. She was so weak, she could hardly walk. Since my mum is no longer working, she took care of Uwan with the help from Dewi. I came everyday to help. It was good to have her around the house even though she only lay in bed for the first few days. We had a hard time to get her to eat and to swallow water.Even after being discharged, she was still in drips because she refused to drink water. What a struggle. I know she felt sad bcoz i saw her shed tears a few time when my uncle and mum forced her to eat, drink and eat her medication. Boy it was so tough since she doesn't really comprehend instruction well. Doctors classified her as a dementia patient due to a small stroke she had 3 years ago. That long merdeka weekend, our house was full as my uncles and family came to visit Uwan. Rasa macam raya pulak, siap boleh buat tahlil sekali.
My mum took Uwan to an Ustazah in PD for some traditional treament. After that, with Allah permission, Uwan became better, she could eat and drink on her own and take a few steps. Before that she was on a wheelchair. But somehow she still looked sad and depressed. I hope Uwan will get well soon. Kitakan nak raya wan, copek elok yo.
Then Damia came (Dewi takes care of Damia and Uwan in Putrajaya) and how she raved havoc in our house in the 3 days she stayed with us. It was fun having her around. Damia Basyirah is my aunt's 3rd child. She is so different from her brother and sister. She is constantly on the move (running..no walking), talking all the time (in very loud voice and cries as loud too) and as long as she is awake, she will be munching something in her mouth. (hahaha...bcoz she never rejected the food we fed her)
